The SBU arrested an FSB agent who was preparing strikes on airfields in the Kirovohrad region
The security service detained an agent of the FSB of Russia, who was engaged in the preparation of new airstrikes on airfields in the region.
This was reported by the SBU press center.
The enemy henchman received the task from his Russian "curator" - an employee of the 5th service of the FSB, which is in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
"In order to carry out the intelligence task, the agent collected as much information as possible about the technical condition of Ukrainian airfields and the possible presence of warplanes and ammunition depots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine there. He also tried to detect the firing positions of the air defense system near Ukrainian aviation facilities," the report says.
In addition, the Russian special service wanted to find out the total number of possible hits on the airfield infrastructure of the region.
It was established that the detainee received "transfers" in cryptocurrency for "current expenses". The total amount of funds is up to 10,000 in hryvnia equivalent.
SBU employees arrested an enemy accomplice "red-handed" - while he was videotaping the territory of one of the military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A mobile phone was seized from him, which he also used to communicate with the FSB.
According to the investigation, the detainee is a resident of Kropyvnytskyi, who was recruited at the beginning of this year. He was informed of the suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code (treason committed under martial law). He is currently in custody. The perpetrator faces life imprisonment.
